Hi 🙋‍♀ Are you looking for a knowledgable and fun tutor? Congratulations, you are at the right place! I am a certified Korean teacher Joni 💛 I teach Korean and learn other languages here. I already took more than 100 lessons on italki 😃 I want to share the happiness of learning languages with you! I am your friendly tutor who speaks standard Korean. I have been studying many languages like English, Thai, Chinese, Spanish and Indonesian. (if there is not your language, then it will be the next! 😁) I know how hard it is to learn a new language. I can 100% feel you, so don't be afraid to make any mistakes when speaking Korean with me!

You can always make mistakes (actually, you should!) and I will gently correct them. Also, I want you to learn "REAL KOREAN", not translated Korean or words we never use. 💛 I will have you repeat vocabulary, grammar conjugations, sounds, or phrases in many different ways so that you learn and can make them your own words. I don't want you to use the same grammar and words every time. 📝 Don't worry! I'll write down everything we do on lessons on Google Docs so you can review it there. It will be a CUSTOMIZED TEXTBOOK made just for you!

It would be nice if you could tell me exactly what you want to focus on and what materials you want to use. If you don't have... For beginners - Hanguel, textbooks(from King Sejong Institute/Korean Grammar in use-if you want to focus on Grammar) For intermediates - freetalking/Korean Grammar in use-if you want to focus on Grammar/you can always bring your own materials like books, film scripts, videos etc. *cancellation/rescheduling* - If a lesson is about to start within 24 hours, it can NOT be changed to a new time or be canceled. - If you are 15 minutes late without prior notice, it is considered a no-show.

Joni is great! I can tell she is committed. I am very new to learning and was having trouble with pronunciation. She gave me good advice and described how to make the desired sound. She even made a video for me so that I can practice. 10/10!!!

Jiwon is such a clear, thoughtful, patient, and fun teacher to learn from. I especially appreciate her attention to detail and 자연스러은 teaching style that makes conversation practice feel playful and relevant, even when it's difficult. I've learned lots of useful idiomatic expressions, slang, and new vocabulary from practicing with Jiwon, and I like that she will explain new concepts or correct my mistakes in Korean. As someone who forgets things easily, I also love that she also takes notes during the lesson in a Google Doc that I can review afterwards. After many years of self-studying Korean on-and-off on my own, I'm really glad I decided to challenge myself further by scheduling lessons with Jiwon. 너무너무 감사합니다!!!!
