Bonjour ! My name is Rachel, I’m a French Master student in Toulouse. My major is French as a foreign language. I studied for a few years after my baccalaureate and before my Master degree. I even went to Malaysia for a gap year! My first experience of teaching French was with a friend that came in France to study in the same university; we made so many good memories!
A bit about myself : you can use any pronoun with me (they/she/he) I don't mind ! In french I generally use 'she' while speaking but 'they' while writing about myself. I'm also vegetarian. I don't smoke nor drink, that's why my knowledge about alcohol or flesh cooking is limited.عني كمعلّم
I started to tutor here, on Italki, in February 2017 and am still here!
At university I had the chance to practice teaching French a few times in a association, at Alliance Française and at the DEFLE (Foreigners majoring in French) department of my uni (levels from A0 to B2). I also had the opportunity to observe how lessons were given in a social center and a high school in a special class for foreign teenagers recently arrived in France.
I offer informal tutoring (doesn't require more than 15 minutes preparation from me). The lessons are customized to your needs and goals. My students generally prefer to work on conversation practice.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
How can I help you?
The topics I am most familiar with are video games, arts, literature, graphic design and environment. I prefer to help with oral French, but I absolutely can correct your writing or explain grammar.
Some of my students are CHILDREN and SENIORS but most of them are ADULTS. I always send a short greeting message to my new student and ask them what they want to do. Feel free to tell me if you are shy or if you struggle with something, I’ll be there for you =)
PACKAGE – I allow extension once per package.

2021 - 2022
ObserverI did a short internship during my bachelor (University Toulouse 2 : Jean Jaurès). I had to observe classes given to A0-B1 levels, illiterate foreigners, but also traffic laws classes given to illiterate people or people with difficulties should they be French or foreigners. It took place in a social center. I also had the opportunity to lead a class once for A0-illiterate group of foreigners.
2023 - 2023
AssistantI did a short internship in a high school during my 1rst year of master in the University of Toulouse 2 : Jean Jaurès. I had the opportunity to observe the classes given by another teacher and could assist her with the exercices. I also prepared some of them. The classes were given to foreign teenagers or some of their parents.
2024 - 2024
French teacherInternship for the last year of the Master's degree during 6 months.
Classes given: advanced literacy, true beginners, digital.

InternI did a short internship in the office of the University of Toulouse during my 1rst year of master in the University of Toulouse 2 : Jean Jaurès. I did preparation for a flyer of the languages and welcome device for migrants (DiLaMi) and also processed applications to enter the courses offered by the device.

A very pleasant and no stress first lesson!
I found Rachel to be very easygoing but also attentive to grammatical details and pronunciation, even though it was an informal conversation lesson. Rachel’s calm relaxed manner is perfect for this style of language learning: zero stress as the conversation naturally unfolds. Brava!

Ich bin absolute Anfängerin. Ich fühle mich bei Rachel sehr gut aufgehoben. Sie motiviert mich, zu sprechen. Trotz Online Unterricht korrigiert Rachel meine Aussprache und trainiert diese mit mir. Sie stellt Unterrichtsmaterial vor und nennt wertvolle Tipps. Rachel unterrichtet sehr wertschätzend. Ich empfehle sie sehr gern.

la séance avec Rachel était vraiment fructueuse. la qualité principale du Rachel est l'ecoute active. Elle me donne du temps pour parler et m'exprimer même si je ne trouve pas les mots justes, et elle intervient simplement pour m'aider à continuer, ses questions étaient claires et l'interaction tout au long de la discussion s’est déroulée avec fluidité.
