Shalom! My name is Yotam Gubbay, and I teach Hebrew on Italki.
I was actually born in Australia to a Hebrew-speaking family, but I grew up in Canada, where I still live today. I am currently a student studying Global Affairs.
I love languages and the many connections between them and in addition to Hebrew and English, I also speak French and Arabic.عني كمعلّم
I really believe in the concept of comprehensible input, which is the idea that we gain skills in languages when we hear or see something and understand it. I want to make Hebrew lessons fun and engaging and interesting and not just on the linguistic level. I am interested in the science behind language acquisition and I am happy to make my lessons accessible to every level and make the Hebrew language a bridge into a world of content that interests the student and also suits them and what they want to do with the language. I can only say positive things about Yotam. He’s incredibly helpful with any issues you might have and makes learning Hebrew a fun experience.
