I am a very patient, fun, passionate, and dedicated teacher. I believe that with the right guidance, you too will be able to speak Swahili like a native. A typical lesson will comprise of learning fundamental Kiswahili syntax and vocabulary and what it takes to engage in a Swahili conversation. I use simple, interesting, and effective methods of teaching. We will also practice what we learn in class through various conversation pieces. Val has taken me from complete beginner to being able to have full conversations in Swahili.
She's patient, uses various methods to teach, explains things clearly and somehow has an endless amount of interesting questions to ask, which is great when practicing conversational Swahili. And she is very easy going and open minded.

Valary is such an amazing teacher, my lessons with her are always the highlight of my week. She has amazing energy and enthusiasm for teaching, and is always ready with a quick witted explanation for the stranger features of the Swahili language. I'm already gaining confidence in reading and speaking even though I'm usually too lazy to do enough work on my own outside of class. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Swahili
