Welcome! I am Teacher Amy, and I am an experienced online educator with over 7000 classes taught to children in China. I enjoy camping, canoeing, and hiking in the central United States. I love learning about other cultures and have done some traveling including travel to Czech Republic where I hold an honorary degree at St. Charles University. I have my masters degree in counseling children and adolescents. I have my certifications in high school counseling and recently in teaching English as a foreign language online. I enjoy working with children and hope to see you soon in the classroom!عني كمعلّم
Teaching English as a second language has been a dream of mine since graduation. My main experience has been in teaching children, but I have a few adult students as well. I feel that my class is lively and interactive. I incorporate many tools to provide a rich learning environment. I tend to match my energy level to that of my students. With timid students, I tend to speak in a gentle tone to help encourage the student to speak. I also work well with lively students by keeping class fun and full of energy. Parents say that I am engaging and detail oriented. Some of my students have studied with me for 4 years, and I appreciate the relationships that have developed.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My lessons are curriculum based. I feel that there is a good balance between teaching a lesson and discussing every day life. My goal is to encourage students at all levels to develop conversational skills. I am flexible in working with children to build their confidence in class. I have taught children as young as 2 and adults up to 70! There are times that the current level is challenging. I adjust and support the student as they learn. In addition, if the lessons are too simple I will expand on the material to help the student speak in a natural way. 120 Hour TEFL Certificate - International Open Academy - 2022I completed 120 hours of certification for teaching English as a Second Language. The course included an introduction to basic pedagogy, classroom management skills training, and an introduction to English grammar and vocabulary. I was also taught skills in teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I practiced developing learning objectives and lesson planning. I believe that this certification as well as my over 7,000 classes taught in 5 years should qualify me as a professional.

She is an AMAZING teacher. I book a phonics class for my kid. She is patient, interesting teacher, and efficient at teaching, which means kid has fun while learning. Love her. Kid loves her as well.
