Hello/Habari my name is Jacinta Siago. I come from Kenya and I am a native Swahili speaker. Think of me as anew friend, be happy and be ready to learn Swahili and speak like a native. I also speak fluently in English. Apart from teaching I have graduated with a degree in Environmental sciences. I love interacting and meeting new people because together we exchange ideas and learn from each other. I love watching movies😊,listening to music🎶 cooking and also swimming above all helping others to learn something that I know or have knowledge about.عني كمعلّم
I have been teaching Swahili for the last four years now both online and physical classes. I believe new language learning is beneficial because you will be able to express yourself well at a given place where that Language is used. I do encourage students to learn Swahili as much as possible as it is a very easy language to speak and to write. I am a very fun and understanding teacher and my lessons are always interesting . It does not matter which level you are in Swahili language I am willing to take you through patiently and help you learn Swahili. My teaching style relies mostly on the specific students interest. As your tutor, I can help you become confident not just in the Swahili language but also with the social skills that go along with successful communication. I love to make my students feel special and value to their lesson and I can teach students of all levels. I will always be available whenever my students have any questions with Swahili terms and will be willing to help at all times. I love to give notes after teaching a topic for my students to have better reference materials for their practice . You will also get to do a test or quiz after topics just to examine yourself. This has been a great first lesson. I come with about two years of Swahili experience at approximately the A2 level, and I was worried about the quality of the lesson from past experiences.Mwalimu Jacinta ni bora! We jumped right into an assessment of my current knowledge and engaged in short conversations in the lesson. Lastly she provided me with a test of the first day. I would recommend her to anyone on italki!

I have been sick this week and Jacinta very understanding and encouraging. Jacinta shows examples of words introduced and puts them in context. She genuinely enjoys teaching.

Today, I was a little under the weather; however, Jacinta was sensitive to ask if I thought I could go full hour. I appreciate her concern and many examples incorporated the change in my own demeanor, activities for the day,etc. Feeling ill introduced many new words.
Admittedly, I felt much better after class.
